I purchased a Dan Wesson 15-2 SN: 357 B004284 and received it today. I have an older one in very nice condition with a wonderful DA/SA trigger pull. This new one is at least double the weight and is so difficult it will not register on my gauge at 12#s. I opened it up and cleaned it well and it shows virtually no use internally. I can see no parts that were disturbed. Can someone recommend a solution for a reasonable trigger pull?

The quickest way is to put in Wolff reduced power springs. The hardest way is to pull the trigger several thousand times and the lock work will polish itself. The Wolff springs and the "Average Joe Tuneup" pinned to the front of Gunsmithing, I think, is what most of us do. DO NOT FILE OR DREMEL THE SEAR. The lockwork is MIM and the hardening is only on the very outside of the part. Any filing will lead to premature failure of the part. The AJT will give you step by step pictures and instruction.
