So my little T-Grip project kind of got put on hold ... partially because I couldn't find a T-Grip at a good price and partially because lbruce sent me a bitchin' set of CCW grips.
Well last week I stumbled across a polished T-Grip for a square butt K-Frame $5 on Auction Arms so I threw in a $5 bid expecting to lose and I won! I'd have rather had brass, but beggers can't be choosers.
The grip came yesterday so I put the combat grip back on my 14-2 and modified the T-Grip to work.
It was a pretty simple affair ... I just bent the tabs in (could have cut them off but bending was easier), drilled a hole in grip (bit walked just a little bit ... I really need a drill press), counter sunk it and using a spare screw I had laying around, mounted the T-Grip to the combat grip and wow!
I think it looks great (very "vintage") and the feel is just about perfect (so I'm really torn between these and the grip from lbruce ... which may end up winning in the long run but hell, I like swapping stuff around and it takes 2 seconds to switch grips).
If I had some real good epoxy I think that might work slightly better as the head of the screw feels a little funny.
Here's a couple pics.

I like the look, but I'm with ya...brass would have looked better with the DW medallions. But for $5, I wouldn't have turned it down either.
I'm curious as to whether that screw will hold up to recoil...go out & fire off a few & give us some results. I don't ask for much, do I? ...

I'm not worried about the screw. Its pretty long (goes all the way to the tang, in fact I had to snip about 1/16" off the end).
But as soon as I can I'll run out to the range and put a few downrange

Sounds like it will probably stay secure, then. Let us know how you like it.
Sure does make a different & tough look for a Model 14, doesn't it?
