Usually I carry a Browning Tbolt 22 mag and a DW 357. I always reach for the Tbolt even though I really want to get one with the DW. So, I recently carried the DW all alone. Walking up the edge of a soybean field I missed one at about 75 yards. Next one popped up about 40 yards. This is my first woodchuck with a handgun and I hope many more. Ah hell, I just have fun shooting at them. This one still has his meal in his mouth.

Nice shooting! Do you mind sharing what load you are using in the .357? I never thought of trying groundhog hunting with a Dan Wesson, I'll have to look for a farm around here that needs the herd thinned out some.

When I lived up in MI I used to pop those bad boys with my good old Ruger MKII. Tough critters. Don't ever remember stopping one with just one .22lr. They are quick little buggers. I bet a nice light hot .357 load would be perfect.

if you find one...what's your plan?

I killed one with a 22, once, but it was right between his eyes. Back in the day I hit one with my 44 Remington black powder revolver, and he dropped like a shot duck.
Then, just jumped up and ran into his hole. Yeah, they're tough. I keep a close eye on these suckers. Besides eating our soybeans, they'll undermine foundations...

lonwolf93, I didn't load any rounds for this gun. I found 2 boxes of federal 158 grain flat points in my ammo stash. I shot them and they were very accurate. The plan is to get some hollow points loaded maybe even in 125 grain to reach out there and do some damage. I will have to see what the gun likes.
