My eldest son, who just turned 13 last month, finally received his first Firearms License. He took the mandatory course with Mom last February when he was 12 (minimum age here in Canada), we mailed the paperwork off to the RCMP in March for review, and it just arrived in the mail today. Been smiling all day and when I showed him after school he was just so happy.
He's been shooting since he was 5 and he already has a few of his own rifles that he can now carry in the bush alongside Dad: a CZ 452 Scout .22, a CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39mm, and a single shot .410 (though he quite likes my Ithaca 900XL 20g, so I gotta keep an eye on that one). Passing on the torch and the tradition. Yeah, proud Dad moment.
Looking forward to future memories, here's a few from the past:
Teaching him to shoot the 740
I think he was 6 or 7 here and he got the CZ Scout and Burris Timberline scope for Xmas. Little brother was excited as well.
First time lining up and shooting his CZ
