I will refrain from the required Pictures on this one to protect the privacy of our house guest. We have had the wonderful opportunity to have a 16 year old 4-H exchange student from Poland to live with us for 3-1/2 weeks this summer. 4-H is the primary reason for the trip to the USA, there are about 16-students visiting our local chapter but we have one 16-year old boy and he has been a pleasure to share the USA with. He speaks English very well and is very interested in experiencing everything possible during his stay with us. We have just returned from a camping trp in Jim Thorpe, PA and did some white water rafting with him as well as letting him spend a day doing paintball. In discussions with him they, the Polish, are not allowed to own guns and the closest he has ever experienced to firing a real firearm was with an air-soft gun. Well,... We can't let that be the case now can we? Two weeks ago we spent a Sunday afternoon at the local range and offered him the opportunity he may never get again. We took a .22, .357 and a .44 magnum with light loads to the range and left hi try his hand at revolver shooting. Yes most were Dan's. He really liked the 44 magnum with the light loads. He tried the AR-15 I took along and thought it was a blast as well. He fired a 45 ACP from the Kimber and with the assistance of another fellow shooter who i spoke with at the range he got to fire a 36 caliber underhammer blackpowder handgun. The entire experience has been more of an eye opener for us than for our guest, learning more about the priviliges we all take for granted here every day. I know pictures would make this topic more entertaining, but I just wanted to share our recent experience at letting someone try something for that once in a lifetime experience.

That's for sure, being out there banging away with some cool guns is sure to leave a lasting impression! Hopefully he'll grow up to be someone who can change some of the ways things are done in his country, from his experiences during his visit with your family.
That must be a great experience, SMF.

I can see it now:
"Thank you for sending your son to visit with us, we all had a great time. That dent in his forehead simply adds a bit of character to a handsome young man, and it will be a memory he will treasure forvever, once be recovers from the temporary amnesia"
Best Regards ...
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
