OK, I'll admit I viewed your post, but you were pretty particular with your question.  Yes, I have opinions on "small, super bright, and tough flashlights" .. but, no experience with rechargeables and I have never even heard of "Atomic Beam", so I elected not to reply.

Mag-Lite Mag-Tac is in my night stand.

Gotta haves: Rear button and three positions: intermittent, full on, and pulse.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I like Mag Lite also, got an older 4D cell, makes a good weapon too.

Have used AA Mini Mags for years, but they don't hold up well. The switches go bad

for me a lot, prob. from carrying in pocket [body heat/moisture]. So I wanted to modernize,

got one coming from online, but would like to see the Mag-Tac, Ron wink Did not know about it before.

Here's what I got coming and my Mags, the D cell I got years ago from Chrysler as a gift.

Just a word of caution, don't be swayed with ad photos of bright beams….long exposures can make a candle look like a flame thrower.

If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

COOL, I have thought about a light on my Walther P99.

Is that a light or a laser on your 40 cal ? Do you like it and what brand ??

That's a Laser Max laser only.  I have a Viridian combination light/ laser on my Para but I'd rather have the light separate from the laser to support scanning.

Correction on the Atomic Beam. It's advertised by Hunter Ellis, former fighter pilot.

It says "led components" made in USA big-grin

Pete,

The flashlight in your link I believe is the same as one I bought a while back on Amazon. I have seen ads for them many places by different names. Made in Asia. Not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that.

I use mine at work where the lifespan of a flashlight is sometimes short. It gets banged around, oily and dirty and dropped frequently and is holding up fine. It is bright, nice aluminum housing with rear switch, has dimming, strobe and SOS signal, nice zoom and came with rechargeable battery and charger. I consider it an awesome deal for what I paid. I have used mine long enough now that I would not be afraid to buy another one to use as a nightstand flashlight, and I normally do not trust my life to low budget gear.
