This thread started as a laid back idea (and I assume) about a relaxing place in one's heart and domain...a peaceful scenario, "show us your back yard", which translates into much of a guy's (or lady's) personal area, the back yard. I suppose of any thread here, this one deserves to be hijacked...to a point & within reason.lol2

Keep it relaxed & all's good.occasion

Personally, I would love to see more beautiful back yards, I will be so envious! 🙂

Thank you, Charger Fan, you read my mind. All good, our spaces we and Mother Nature call home!!wink

I hope I started a good thing and we get lots morecool-pics.

Steve, I was burning some of sticks last night myself, to MOW today, My 85 yr old Mom lives next door,

so between her and I it's about 2 acres of grass[weeds],but the sun's out occasion

Saw a small doe this am near fire pit, I was in house still,so no pic.

BTW Stinger told me to change my avatar, look close the bullets have smiley faceslaughing

I can't come close to guessing how many hours I have spent at the fire pit burning up old IRS/Credit card/dead branches/Mortgage/tree limbs/bill collector bullshit over the years. Much of that was on DWF or talking on the phone with my brother or son or reading a good book, enjoying a frosty beverage...

AND enjoying the fire

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well technically this would be the front yard as the house is way off the road and this is on the way in. First pic is last summer as the pasture is not that green or plush yet. I do not remember when I took the pic across the pond (Dam is the driveway) but it is fairly common sight. I drive across the county to deer hunt and haven't taken one in years, just doesn't seem right to shoot one in the front yard. I scenery is still cool though. This doe raises off a pair of fawns every year. See bucks from time to time but they don't hang around for pictures.

Cool looking yard LB and I agree about not hunting your property .. then you'd miss the fawns every Spring.

Not the backyard but side 'yard'.

I hope at least a few of these flowers survived the freezes and frosts and will become apples.

Chris- Way back in the Dark Ages "aka, when I was growing up", one of my best friends' father owned and operated "Buttons Orchard" in Farmington, MI. It was primarily apples, some plum and peach, and cherry, I think. His Dad was the Volunteer Fire Company Chief as well, and the fire truck was garaged there (lot's of fun playing on a real fire truck at 10 years old!). At the time I never realized that all those "little houses" were for the migrant pickers that worked a circuit (and a pretty crappy life) following the harvest.

All the land sold out quite a while ago to become more of the 'burbs, whenever we visit there now I drive streets that did not exist when I was young and look at what used to be our playground.

Sorry, I could not resist a nostalgic ramble from an old fool.

Very small yard & camera's broke. All I see in my back yard is a hedge row and the dog when I let her out, an occasional stray cat and once in a while a rabbit. The Azalea's are almost in full bloom. Gotta move out in the country.

Next to back yard is my barn, on back of shop w/press, parts washer, tractor, 4 wheeler & lots of bs.

Ms. ground hog been there for 2 years and my dog can't get to it [got all young last year], but just got bit

trying to get the big one. Gotta clean out all the cover and me or Petey will get it. 2 days ago I heard something

in there and saw GH through window by my desk, cocked my 9 and tried to sneek out there. It was gone mad

You can see why it's on BOLO/Most wanted list range-timewhippingghog-005.JPGImage Enlarger

I enjoy getting out on the links early in the mornings and breathing the fresh air, listening to the birdies chirping and bunny rabbits hopping around the bushes. I don't take the game seriously, because I'm not that good. My first game was in Northampton, England with my friend Scotty, who not surprisingly, was a Scotsman. I played nine holes and had a score of 122, but managed to play the same ball through the whole game (and I still have it).

Anyhow, my neighbor, whom I have known since 1969 and loves golf more than me, is building a mini-course in the back field. Her friend designs and builds golf courses for a living, is putting it in, supplying all equipment and labor ... all she has to do is pay for materials.

The game is 7-club wiffle ball. I went over today, after his dog "Hoss" (golden retriever) went for a swim in our pool and he walked me through the course, stroke by stroke. It will be a 9-hole course, with par 3's through 5's, with three island greens out into the water feature in the middle.

There will be one elevated tee box, hitting to a green out in the water. Should be pretty cool and will provide progress pics when available.

Shot from the first tee, down the fairway ... the cat is in the soon-to-be lake.

The course has been named with a marble marker ... that's what you get when decisions are made around the bar, late in the evening.
