I live not very far from Ole Dog and found out that we both use the same LGS for transfers, so when he said he was coming to town to pick-up a new gun for his wife, we decided to meet for lunch and we both brought our DW stuff for show & tell (well, I brought everything I had and he only brought about 10% of his hoard).

He sure has some nice stuff and I have already learned lots of useful information.  We are going to meet for a range day very soon and I get to shoot a SuperMag for the first time in my life.  Really looking forward to it !

Does anyone else live near another member and get together for a Meet & Shoot ?

Myself, Lonwolf93, Jaggman and Supermagfan all live reasonably close and get together for an annual PA range day every spring.  We have been fortunate to also have Jody and Jaggman's son Andy also shoot with us.  It's great to be able to get together, shoot Dan's, swap stories and admire more rare Dan's than I even knew existed a few years ago.

I know you and Ole Dog will have a 'blast' pun intended.range-timerange-time

I have met/shot/shared lunch/... with a half dozen DWF Members in my area over the years. It's always been an enjoyable experience, all were pretty much "one and done" kinds of things. I have received invites to the PA shoot, and have never been able to make that happen embarassed

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve,

You must get out more often!!  You are really missing a great day, we do have lots of fun shooting the day away.

I think I may be all by myself up north here.  😉  I've met a lot of the shooters at my range of 700+ members and I seem to be the only one shooting Dans.

I am the only Dan Wesson shooter that I know in Southern Oregon. I don't think I'll ever get to shoot someone else's supermag or. 41 mag
So I'm going to have to get my own. Good thing I'm patient.

Ole Dog came into town this morning, so we met up at our LGS, fondled some Dan's, bought some ammo, enjoyed a leisurely lunch and had a great afternoon.

It would be really great to be able to network with other DWF members. I would love to set up a silhouette range and have a range day from time to time. I just got a new plasma cutter and have been looking at dimensions and templates. I tried to search members by state but that doesn't seem to be possible. Or may be even a regional meet and greet!occasion

STinger,

Will have to keep me in mind whenever you guys get back around to joining up. I'm in Lakeland, pretty central in FL.

Also, where is this magical PA meeting place? I've been known to haunt that state from time to time.

Went for a visit yesterday at Old Dog's place and although we didn't get any shooting in, still managed to have a great time.  He gave me the grand tour and the homestead is beautiful. The Bonsai garden was my favorite, with literally hundreds of examples of a wide variety of species and sizes .. he truly is a Master.

Next, we went for lunch at Tony's Sushi, which was a fabulous feast and stopped by GTO Airboats & Guns on the way back to the ranch. Man, this place was redneck heaven, with an incredible assortment of airboat go-fast goodies, to the latest firearms from .17 WSM to .50 BMG.

After, we got back, I pulled up a chair to his workbench and went through "Dan Wesson 101" as my recent 'shooter' grade truck gun received the "average Joe tune-up". Stripped it down, complete cleaning, hand polish and final Carnauba wax buff. Reassembled with a Wolff 8 lb. reduced power hammer spring and trigger return spring.

I can't wait for the next visit, when we put it through it's paces at the range. cool

Have you ever noticed that 3+5+7 is GREATER than 9+1+1 ?                 .

Anyone else near Boston, MA. ?

I installed a system at BNE for a year in Boston in 1984 and really enjoyed the area. One of our Field Engineers took me under his wing and invited me to go along on his weekly dinner night with his buddies at the Hilltop Steakhouse where we would have pitchers of Martini's with jars of green olives, bowls of ice to go with our Filet Mignon. Ahhh, memories !
