Not sure where to put this, but I need help comparing and understanding ACTUAL Internet download speed. We are nearing the end of our current TV/DVR/Internet plan with Comcast. We got a little sucked in on this current agreement several years ago when we bought into a package (lots of channels, full home DVR, three Movie channels, and 102MBS internet download) only to find out after the fact that "102 Blast" was for wired connection, not wireless. The 40'ish MBS we actually get (on WiFi) is still plenty fast for our needs, so it was not a huge issue.
Most of our neighbors, based on the local WiFi addresses available seem to be on Frontier, most of their advertised packages are at 12 MBS, but otherwise have pretty much the same serices we are used to and want. Anyone that has checked their ACTUAL download speeds and can offer opinions based on what speed they are getting in real life, over WiFi connection, please offer some advice and feedback.
I'm really looking for some real life comparison to help me in the renewal/provider change battle.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
