We had a lot of fun with The Big Screen, I'm throwing out my all time favorite movie soundtrack:

Forrest Gump, a good movie that featured really great music

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forrest_Gump_(soundtrack).

This one is on a two CD set, but your offering does not need to be on CD, just music that fits the movie and means something to you

Posting a link to either the soundtrack or movie is appreciated

Hope we can have some fun with a "spin off" Topic smile

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

ok- now music I can get into- the movies, not so much.  Some of my favorites are the music in Desperado (1995) w/ Carlos Santana, Dire Straits and the like.  Of course, if you're a child of the sixties, you listened to the music of the 70s like that in Reservoir Dogs- one of my favorite movies of all time.  Guess I'm a bit dark...

Just to be clear, there does not need to be a "CD Soundtrack"

I am talking  here about the music that plays while you are watching the movie.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have the soundtrack from 'Jeremiah Johnson' on CD. It is archery season here in PA and I like to listen to it in the truck on the way to the cabin. Sets the mood for being in the mountains.

Man those are some all time greats. Ok, you're gonna call me crazy but Dawn had me watch a film with her, Notting Hill, with Julia Roberts, a love story but was a really good film and the sound track to me was super.

I may show my age here but I like "Amadeus" and "Hatari". Another is a laughable movie as for as a true story is concerned is "The Benny Goodman Story" or for that matter "The Glen Miller Story". The first two are my favorites though>

The Forest Gump soundtrack stands out because of the time the movie spans.  Certainly some awesome songs on that one!

A movie and soundtrack that brings back some found memories is Stand By Me.  This is a great coming of age movie released in 1986.  My brother was 11 and I was 13 so we could relate to what as going on in the movie... Love it!

Hatari and Jeremiah Johnson are both great movies!  I haven't seen either of those in forever need to add them to my watch soon list!  I remember watching Jeremiah Johnson with my Dad as a kid.  Two quotes still stand out to me from Jeremiah Johnson:

  • You know how to skin grizz?
  • Full time night woman?

Will Geer was great in that movie!

Getting this in before anyone else with the Blues Brothers

And a little known fact, this was also sung at Bob's Country Bunker but was not in the movie

Pretty sure Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge were in that movie, were they on the soundtrack as well?

Sound track or not, you had me at Julia Roberts, a remarkably beautiful woman, not just "pretty"

Pretty Woman was on in our house last night.
