Tonite I actually answered the phone when "Sam" at 777.777.7799 called. He very earnestly wanted me to know that my computer had sent his company (Global Computing) error messages, and it was important that he work with me to resolve this.
I strung him along for several minutes, even coming right out and asking him "do people really fall for this scam?" He assured me that my computer sent the error messages, and verified that by telling me my name and home address! WOW!
I finally told him to hold on while I got my computer started up, put my phone on "mute", and set the phone down with the speaker on, there was lots of background noise from the other 20-30 people in the room with him. I read and watched TV for a while, but he really hung in there, so I took pity on him and got back on the line.
I told him that there WAS a message on my screen that he could help me with,
"KISS MY A**"!
It was so much fun, I'm going to start a contest with myself to see how long I can string these guys along. This one was over 10 minutes that he was not on the phone trying to scam someone else
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

And I just remembered that earlier yesterday I had gotten an email message that my email account needed "authentication" and that I needed to enter my password "in the space below".
Uh Huh!

I love it! When we get one of those calls, I usually answer the phone with a fake accent, I really like Indian and British, and proceed to converse with the caller, usually telling them that I am the butler, or in the case of Indian, I tell them that the person they called for is at the 7-11 and won't be home for hours. My wife and kids usually get a good laugh during these events.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Good one Steve... I probably would have left him go to see how long he would stay on... and Scorpio, I like that one too. I always say yes, who is this is calling please. No no, they are not in dis number. Maybe I can take message.. sure, yes who is this is calling please.... I usually get slammed down.... good times.

Yeah, I considered doing this, but he really was not taking up any of my time, and I really wanted "Sam" onboard for the kill shot. Wife and I all evening
