I just realized that we don't have a thread for our animal companions. I'll kick it off with my new German Shepherd puppy "Rascal", who's name was earned, not given. Here I am picking him up from the breeder at 12-weeks old and 20 lbs.

3-Days home and he decides to jump over a bush in our garden and accidentally leaped into our pond. He must have swallowed some of that dirty water, because he came down with a bad case of Pneumonia and had to be put into quarantine in the isolation ward at the animal hospital. He was so active, he kept ripping the antibiotic IV out, so he earned the "Cone Head" award.

This is Petey, He looks and acts like a Petey too. I've had 3 Boxers,stubborn exp.females but good dogs. 1st male,
Deiter was 14 w/ hips made me put him down. He was the Boss!!!
Got Petey from stepdaughter after she was shot in a home invasion w/new bf who had just bought
a new home. One eve. someone knocked on door and hid out of sight of window, bf was suspicious and got his
gun,two guys broke in door and he shot first one's "junk" off and was shot and killed himself. daughter was in
fetal on couch and was shot in groin and out by her bottom cheek w/.45 ! She's ok and bad guy in prison wo/you know
what. Can you say prison bitch ha !
But any how, that's how I got Petey, she had a pit already and couldn't keep two.
Then at 9 lbs. Petey was picked up and shook by a coyote in back yard. Female Boxer chased it off.He had stitches
and staples,cried all night. Am was chasing cat around !! He's about 9yrs now

Petey is a cool lookin dog man, seemed friendly enough, should have let him out when we were messin with your new toy, I'm sure he could smell my dog on me...heheheh

they all just showed up one day, together... and lived in my barn for years... Virginia was a weird place

I'll try to take a pic of a pic of the Big Deiter, male boxer 85 lb his head was half again of pit. No wardrobe was compleate wo/ drool and tan hair.
Wife & my first date. Stopped at house & let dogs out. We left and she had big wadd of drool on her leather sleeve, she was appalled. I said you'll get used to it, it won't hurt you.
. She fell in love w/ him and somehow me too.

I've currently got two cats & two dogs. I did have a male mallard duck for just shy of 11 years, but sadly, he passed away in February. Here he is as a duckling in Feb. 2005, His name was Walter "the gravy butt".
And five months later he was a big boy! I really miss having him around, he was a real character.

Some real nice companions in here - you can tell they're all part of the family.
My adopted baby girl - she came into our family 4 years ago and turned 8 this year. Love her more than anything in the world.....

He's male Deiter & female Karma & kids, now late 20's !!! I feel old
Miss those dogs Deiter was the sh....t w/older , we'd take him camping
and first thing any dog that came near him, he'd get in there face like going to
kill [all talk] and after that he was cool. Like, leave me alone and no one will get hurt !!!
Except 1 jack russle w/pups, he got about 20yds. away and she came after HIM. He
just turned around and walked away,like OK beautch !
