It was an iconic movie of the 60s...if you have 5 minutes, this is how the music was made. I think you'll enjoy...
Theme song...The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
It took me til about 1:30 into the video to recognize it...

Wow, that was GREAT! I don't remember the song starting that slowly in the movie, but when you're distracted by visuals on the screen, that could be overlooked in my memory.
I am totally watching that again this weekend...in fact, we are supposed to be under a deluge of snow all weekend, so it's a perfect time to dust off my VHS tapes, kick back & re-watch all Clint's spaghetti westerns. Gonna slip the Outlaw Josey Wales in there too, at some point.

Okay, so I watched the movie tonight...and no, there wasn't that much lead-in to the music at any point. Glad to know my memory isn't complete mush.
At 2 hours 40+ minutes, the flick was longer than I remembered, but it's still great to watch. And after a "commercial break", I followed up the evening with "The Outlaw Josey Wales". Much of that movie was filmed 13-ish miles from my home town when I lived there, yet I didn't discover that fact until I was in my 30's.
Still, Rimfire, your link was pretty cool & entertaining, thanks for posting.

Always enjoyed watching those spaghetti westerns, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly was my favorite. Gotta love those cartridge firing cap and ball revolvers though. Historically impossible of course, but I just recently found out that Sergio Leone had those revolvers custom made for the film for safety reasons, mostly. Cimarron imports an Uberti made replica appropriately called "The man with no name" revolver. Waaaaaaay cool!! Shoots .38 Special and at a glance looks exactly like an 1851 Colt Navy cap and ball revolver. No added ejector rod (like on 1860 Army conversions), but it has a cartridge removal tool cleverly hidden within the loading plunger under the barrel. Check out Cimarron's website and have a look!

Ennio Moriccone (the composer) and Sergio Leone (the director) two grand masters of their respective art. Check out Once Upon A Time In The West made by both to see Henry Fonda play a bad guy and slap the shit out of Charles Bronson. Amazing.
RIP Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach.

“Once upon a time in the West “is one among my favorites of all time. Up there with” Paint your Wagons ” and both just below the quality ever made,” High Noon”.
