I have been reading this forum for over a year now. I shoot at a local gun range often. I sometimes wonder if any one shooting while I am shooting belongs to this forum. I do see there are a couple of Wisconsin guys on the forum at times. Maybe we should come up with an easy way we can communicate with members from our own states. For all you know the guy next door might be reading this. He might even be a gun freak that loves to talk guns.

Interesting observation, I have met with several DWF Members locally because their location was noted in their online profile or posts.
America is SO big, and DWF is pretty small, I am not sure that "Hometown Forums" would work well.
No guarantees, lets have our Staff (covering much of America) bounce this around.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I met 3 forum members here, 2 live within 5 miles, the other was at a gun show we both were looking at a DW and started talking and found out we were forum members

Whenever I'm on a Gun Shop Cruise (normally every Saturday, 4-5 stops on the circuit) I'm wearing a DWF T shirt and/or hat. I've had people approach me about DW's, always a pleasant conversation.

I've met and become friends with several members from my area through this forum. It is most certainly a way to bring folks with similar interests together.

I know a few members on the forum and have told several others about it. Some I know the user names some I don't. Would be interesting to have a upper midwest get together, like they did with some of the guys out east.

Several of us PA guys have gotten together for range days, and it is always a great time. We will surely do it again. I think the most practical way to meet DWF members who are local to you, is to have your general location in your profile, as detailed as you are comfortable with. I think it is a fine idea to PM any members you see with similar locations to see if they are interested in meeting.
