We have a small bedroom (used to be our son's room) that is My Room, mostly. Closet for my clothes, book case for my books, gun safe and ammo shelf, remote printer, file cabinet for our personal family papers, etc.
My reloading area dominates the room, but the "other wall" has some memorabilia stuff, and my Die Cast Muscle Cars
The memorabilia includes Dad's Flag and some souvenirs from (mostly) drinking establishments. On display are about 45 die cast Muscle Car Models accumulated over several years. Pretty heavy General Motors orientation in my collection (GM fed our family!)
Every time our granddaughter Lily comes over she wants to see Grandpa's cars, and every time she has new favorites.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Cool!!! My 'other wall' shelf has almost all GM Muscle Die Cast. Just raised on baseball, hotdogs apple pie and Chevrolet. Plus some original 'Mach 5' cars. Along with my videos and videos for the grand kids. Although, mine babes usually want to take my cars away..

Easy choice, 1969 Camaro
Then it becomes a coin toss
Z-28, a pure Factory race car, or
Indy Pace car, and Iconic car
Honorable Mention goes to the Hurst Olds 4-4-2's

That is actually a "file photo", but we are making progress on reclaiming MY room.
BTW, barely seen in the far upper right corner is something that my brother sent me a while ago
Maybe he will share this story, for some reason I remember very little of this episode

That's a good looking collection, Steve! What size are those cars, 1:18th or other? I have a bunch of diecast cars myself. I thought I had some pics, but it looks like my photo host site may have lost them. I will take more soon, to show-n-tell. Every guy needs his "man cave".

Yep, 1:18. I have not bought any in several years, but I went through about a year and half of buying 1-2 a week on average. No rhyme or reason to the choices, except that I had to think they were cool.
When Andrew moved out on his own and took "his" bookcases, I actually had to go to the unfinished furniture store and get some some new display shelves.

Say now, that thing looks familiar. I believe one weekend back in the mid 70's when Steve was at Michigan State and I was at ][V][ ichigan, I got bored and wandered up to East Lansing. Once upon a time there was a bar there named The Stables. It was actually a, 2 story I think, former horse stable. (no surprise, MSU is the land grant school in MI).
They had cheap draft beer in ⇑ those big honking glass schooners. I actually found that one packed away a couple of years ago and sent it to Steve. Now my memory is not totally clear on this issue, but these are the points I'm pretty sure I remember:
1. it was a winter Saturday.
2. we both went to the Stables.
3. copious amounts of a beer like substance (probably Strohs blechhh) were consumed from a steady flow of ⇑ those things.
4. there was a live band. It's my recollection it was Bachman Turner Overdrive. It's Steve's recollection that it was Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Whoever it was, I'm sure they were great.
5. things get a little foggy after that. Somehow we got back to Steve's house.
6. when I left for Ann Arbor the next day, I found a napkin with a female name and phone number on it.
7. I believe I then missed 2 days of classes. (MSU was voted top party school a couple of times by Playboy and the coeds were a definite improvement over U of M!)
And that, my friends is my story and I'm sticking to it! (unless photos surface somewhere on the internet)
PS, I have no idea how that ⇑ thing got in my car.

My "dazed and confused" memory can somehow offer some (marginal) enlightenment on this.
It was almost certainly BTO, as I recall on the night of the Commander Cody performance (also at the Stables) was when I managed to mangle my right ankle, I forgot that the curb is several inches higher than the road surface. That misunderstanding can lead to a fractured ankle. Who Knew?
Looking back on my college career, I can confidently say I got a Bachelors in Business, and a Masters in Stupid!

Did you mangle your ankle because you had too many of ⇑ those big honking things???

Absolutely not. For some reason a concrete curb suddenly appeared where there had not been one before. I'm not sure how a new curb was formed, poured, and cured during the time that I enjoyed a couple cold beverages.

That's kinda how I was, only maybe 1-2 a month. I haven't counted how many I have, but I would guess somewhere around 50 or so. I have probably 20 that are still in boxes, because I have no room left to display them. The room is currently a mess & my camera doesn't take wide photos of a room too well, but here's a few quick pics.
Part of the "theme" of this cabinet is movie & TV cars. I used some VHS tapes to hold up the upper glass shelves near their corresponding cars. Works great.
Another cabinet. Sorry for the blurry pics...if I don't use a tripod indoors, they always come out blurry.
The wall above my computer desk has a collage poster of winged race cars, Daytona's & Superbirds. To the right is some motorcycle stuff, to the left is a book case with car books & a few car models.
