I like radios, shortwave/amateur.
Boss Dog, you definitely need to open a New Topic on this, PLEASE!!!
Way back in the old days I built several HeathKit Shortwave receivers. When Dad helped out, it usually worked first time, when I ran Solo, sometimes not.

But a LOT of fun!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

And going off on a tangent (it's my special talent)
"Breaker, Breaker 19, this is KEAB7786, the Desperado"
Yeah, I was the Desperado.
Sometimes I can't remember my phone number, but I still remember my CB FCC license number.

Two GREAT topics here!
Let's see them as new Topics, please. I think there would be a lot of interest in both, many guys do not read down to the second page to see what's new.
I know there are other boaters here, and I'm pretty close to one Member that has played around with the Amateur Radio idea a few times. Coincidentally, ARRL is based about 10 miles from where I live

Boss Dog, I had a Heathkit two meter "Lunch Box".
Zoomb - nice collection indeed!
Jody, the cameras with teh big flash reflectors are Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Flash cameras with flash holders. I don't remember when they were made, I just think they look neat. They sell between $5-$10. A times they may come with flash bulbs, batteries and film! The other cameras on left are very early Polaroids which folks have given to me. At one time I had 30-50 vintage cameras.
I also have vintage photos - tintypes, Daguerreotyps (1840-1850 actually a mirror negative one time print on glass). Since these photos took several seconds or minutes, there was often movement of the sitting person - this is why images of children or babies are very rare.
Lesson over for today!

I have one Heathkit (GR-91) general coverage receiver that was already built when I got it a few years ago. I did have to clean it up quite a bit though and do some re-soldering that cleared up some problems for me. Also have a Hk speaker and some meters in there somewhere.
I've got about as many more radios as you see here in my hobby/junk room just sitting around doing nothing. Need to thin the herd out a bit.
I'll try to get a thread together in the next few days. Every since I went to 3rd shift at work and babysitting for the daughter, I'm always tired and time is at a real premium anymore.
Also, my old computer died last December and I just got this Vista machine running about a month ago and I hate it. Thinking about blanking it and loading Windows 7 on it so I can access my old files again.

ZOOMMB, interesting story I heard from more than one Photographers Mate while in the Navy.
1980's-1990's Nikon had a supply contract with the Navy. It was pretty much all the navy used that I know of. Anyway the story is that the way Nikon got the contract was; during a sales pitch with the brass in purchasing, one of the salesmen picked up a Nikon off the table and threw it hard at a wall. He then picked it up and showed them that it still functioned perfectly. You know the military likes stuff that's built like tank right? Anyway, just a story I heard, can't verify it officially.
