I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Dave ... no, it's a 95ci big bore kit with Screamin' Eagle mufflers and K&N air cleaner kit.

I'll start off w/project of my cousin's [he's 74 and a little slow], still waiting on him to get paint work done and back to me so I can assemble it. A 19229 Harley Davidson J-D 1200 w/sidecar. Green is how I got it, so far just disassembled and had frame and things powder coated. Engine was supposedly O-H and not been started !! We'll see. i was told "original rear kick stand is worth over 1K, cause they would fall down and people took them off and pitched them !! [won't need it w/sidecar]

This is the best I can do for a before pic of MY H-D. Bought in 97, stroked eng. to 93ci. in 98 =

S&S Sidewinder "Big Bore" kit, was 74ci. 1200, Painted in winter of 99 and swapped out SG front end for a "Fat boy" style. After about 50K of HARD runniing, a rod bearing started making noise and I went through it again in 07. Bored .010" over, milled heads .020" went w/Andrews 6 cam, Crane roller rockers. Had machine work done and Hawg Head and I put it together and I did all other work. And had close ratio gear set put in trans. back when ?? Not much AMF left. wink I estimate 100+hp now wowShe'll keep up w/103ci's w/Ole Lady on the back laughing No colors, but here's my leather, [you need sleeves in Ohio, Stinger] pokeMC-001-1.JPGImage Enlarger

I'm a little late, I see. laugh Well, technically this is the second bike thread, it's my fault for not bumping the original to the top before now... HERE Although there's a lot of dead pic links in that thread, mine included. cry

Here's my favorite & currently only bike, named the Aquamax...because it spent the night underwater once (I didn't do it). I've had this one since 1997 & don't plan on ever selling it. Why? Because I've found that there's NO substitute for a Vmax!big-grin Here's how it currently looks today...

In 2013, my middle son brought this home...a 2009 Yamaha 1900cc Raider.

HPIM3273.JPGImage Enlarger

These bikes are no slouch, but from a seat of the pants feel, I knew my 1200cc Aquamax would give it a good run. Erick thought "no way". So we found a nice lonely open stretch of road one day & drag raced three runs...it was closer than I expected, but the Aquamax spanked him 3 for 3!cool

He ended up selling the Raider the next spring to buy a truck.slap

cool-pics I figured you for a soft tail [sftl], I prefer Dyna myself. I took my test on one almost identical to that.

Friend's bike, then he wrecked it and rebuilt it, got hooked on pain pills, filled bankruptcy, stripped bike, no one knows where it's all at. Then he o-d'ed and died !! crymad
