Wow, that old brake lathe brings back memories...I bet I turned a couple thousand drums & rotors on a machine just like that. From the mid 80's to the early 90's, although mine wasn't nearly as rusty. I didn't enjoy it then, but I wouldn't mind taking a few for a spin today...then that's it!
These days I work in Utah's largest motorcycle dealership...and no, I don't make decent money. When I grow up, I will get a real job...
Cars...I have 13 today, here are a few notables...
I kinda went on a Lincoln kick the past few years, my latest is an '03 Aviator...they only made them 3 years. The aluminum 4.6 DOHC engine is a hoot!
Then there's my '03 Townie. They made a zillion of these Panther cars, but this one is mine...and I love it! When I bought it...
And the one that started in all, back in '08, my '77 Town Car, with the "fixed glass roof".
The color similarity isn't an accident, I happen to like various shades of dark red.

After retiring, I went back to work 90 days later; still serving but as a Dept. of the Army Civilian. I am what they call the "Range Management Authority" for Ft. Polk, LA. I 'manage' 230K+ acres of ranges and training lands. Last Thursday I was invited to watch an Engineer Research and Development test shot (VBIED vs T-wall and Hesco). I can't show you the setup on the other side but I can show the unclassified side.
Before:
After- a bit dusty still. The wall did a pretty good job- notice damage on blast (right) side of wall:
Blast side; Hard to gain perspective but T-walls are 12' tall. Hole is about 8' deep. Guy in background...
Some vehicles that were on the blast side at 50' (a little further now)
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
