Can a barrel from a 15 be put on a 715 (357).  I have just aquired my first DW with a 6"V barrel and I would like to get a 4VH and an 8VH.  Drool  One for carry and one for IHMSA.Mini Gun  love these little critters..

Kruzer    Found out my 715 stands for stainless.  So I won't want a 15 barrel.  Stainless!!

Welcome!

In general DW and to an extent CZ has not put much difference in cost on the two metals, I cant say that holds true on GunBroker.  While looks plays an important part, sometimes you find a great deal on the "wrong" color barrel... For instance if a 10" SRS came up in SS I would not hesitate to grab it for my 15-2.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

4 Monson Model 15's

1 Palmer FB 15

1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)

1 CZ 75B

As Pine said and
Becareful!  Do you have a 15-2 or one that looks like below?  Post up some pics!  If you have a M15 it would have the tang on the shroud/porkchop (as pictured below).  if not then any of your 15-2 small frame shrouds will fit it!

The barrel (just the "tube" inside the shroud) is freely interchangeable between 15-2 and 715 models. The barrel from earlier 15 models may not be, due to the length involved with an external barrel nut, I'm not sure on this. In the terminology, there are barrels, shrouds, and BA's (Barrel Assemblies).

For example, I have a 722, and I have a 6" .22 cal barrel, but I do not have a 6" 722 shroud. I regularly shoot this with a 6" .22 barrel and a 6" SS 715 (.357 Magnum) shroud.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have both a 715 and 15-2 and the barrels are interchangable.  May look a little odd, but it will still shoot well.  One of my barrels is a blued 10" with a 2X Aimpoint and I've put it on the 715 and it has no problem.  I think all of hte current tubes are stainless.

Shoot safely.
