With the economy in this state I wonder about DWs choic to stop their CBOB that blue collar guys like me can afford and the choice to make the first alloy frame bobbed commander in 9mm.
Bobtail , lightweight carry, and .45 seem to go together for me...who wants to carry a 9mm?
I love my CBOB but went back to my Colt Defender on my side..
DW hasn't made a carry gun for me yet...')" target="_blank">
I'm looking at a Colt XSE, Kimber Pro Carry ii, or a SA lightweight 4" to have bobbed..
Also Kimber has one for 2010 and I'll bet we'll have a hard time getting it..
If I buy a 9mm for cheaper shooting it's not going to cost $1500 because I won't carry it and who cares if it's of the highest quality or has FTF etc at the range..
Hey Zenfly,
Reading the 1911 Forum a lot of guys have ask Keith for a 9MM in that configuration. Dan Wesson production runs are very small compared to the big guys so maybe they want to give the loyal fans something new to choose from. I have my CBOB so I don't need another but might save up for one of the new models. Maybe this is their thinking... just a guess.

I've been looking at 45 carry gun also. I like the colts too, partly because my sister in law was a nurse at Colt in Hartford, CT. She managed to get at least one firearm for her husband, from the custom shop.
I was at a gun shop in Uncasville, CT yesterday and they told me Colt is only dealing with Military contracts now, not selling to the private sector.
The Kimber pro carry and the SA 4" are the ones I really like too, but still havent decided yet. Going to Ron's Guns in East Lyme, CT today to look at more guns.

mox-Newington Gun Exchange has a Colt Officer and 2 Colt Defenders, all in Stainless as of yesterday. Colt Officer was at a pretty good price as I recall
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
