Ron, the rules should stay basically the same. The only addition that I'm going to make this year will be that along with posting a web friendly version of the photo that a high resolution photo be emailed to me as well. Last year I was scrabbling to get everything put together at the end so if I get the photos up front I can make sure they are all print quality.
I also think this year it might be cool to judge photos as well. Maybe we can come up with 2 or 3 categories (or more) and the winners in each category get's a free calendar. Just to get the conversion going here's what I'm thinking:
Categories
- Overall - This will be determined by the total number of votes submitted for each photo just like it's always been. The top 12 overall photos will be used for the 2014 calendar.
- Action Shot - Best photo of a DW being fired.
- Most Creative
Again these are just some idea's, any thoughts?

I was thinking that'd be a neat category too. Now, which powder should I use to get the fireball affect out of the AGS???
RDX?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Also what does everyone think about allowing HS and Mitchell entries?
IMO, even though the HS & Mitchell's are cousins to DW's, a Dan Wesson Forum calendar should portray at least one DW in each photo. Having said that, I think photos portraying a DW with it's matching cousin would prove both interesting & educational to calendar buyers who may not be "in the know". Like pairing up a 14-1 and a MK II for example.
I agree that 1911's would be best in their own calendar, separate from revolvers.

I agree with CF, personally I would like to see pics with Mitchell and HS revolvers that have Dan Wesson origins, but it is easy enough to incorporate a Dan Wesson or 2 in the pic with them.
I would like to have a separate 1911 calendar too, since I now have a 1911 I will try to come up with a nice entry.

I agree Jody- no issue with it if a proper Dan is also in the pic. Last year wasn't a good 1911 year, maybe this year will be better; we'll see.
Oh man I just hate it when I agree with Ron!

I think we had a GREAT 1911 Calendar (and I didn't even have a picture in it).
The Annual Calendar is a really cool thing we do on DWF, and I don't see it done anywhere else. I still have at least one of every Calendar so far, I have given away several to local shooting buddies. Jody, maybe to help out our newer Members, can you post the cover page of every calendar we've done? This shows a montage of the twelve selected photos for each Calendar.
Please, let's try to do another 1911 Calendar, we have a lot more DW 1911 guys here than in the past, and (let's face it) DW's primary focus and future seems to be 1911's. I absolutely believe that if Daniel B was here today he would be so into the 1911 market it would make your head spin.
And, I agree that any photo in the DWF Calendar(s) needs to include a Dan Wesson named item. That does not mean the photo can't include another gun from the "DW Family Tree"

Woo hoo- here we go; picture taking time!Same rules? No previous submissions?
Previous submissions should be OK, as long as they were not one selected for the Calendar

I don't think I can state it any better! Sounds like a good plan to me. DW Cousin's can be displayed with a DW for the revolver calendar and we'll have a separate 1911 if we can get enough submissions!
