This looks like fun and a worthwhile endeavor. Could someone please clarify on point please?
The requirements state that; "The caption must be complete and accurate, sufficient to convey the circumstances in which the photograph was taken. Disguising or misrepresenting the origin of your content is cause for disqualification".
An example of a caption would go a long way in describing what "sufficient to convey the circumstances in which the photograph was taken", actually means.

It's really a way for you to affirm that the photo is "your" property and that you can legally assign the right to publish the photograph.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Any photo that features a Dan Wesson firearm(s) is appropriate. Many submissions have a theme or are artfully posed on a unique background. Holsters, speed loaders, knives, ammunition, cigars, multiple guns, beverages, ...
Photos already posted on DWF are fine as long as you have them available in a size/format described in the directions for submitting entries.
You can search DWF ("calendars") and look at previous years entries
