CCI .22 lr available at a LGS, plenty on the shelf, $23.99 per brick. Unfortunately, a "brick" is now 300 rounds.
$.08 per round????
Limit one per customer per day, and it was flying out the door. I might have been the only person there not buying one.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

A new Meijers Megastore opened in Alma, Mi. this week. A coworker who works afternoons got a call from his cousin in the A.M. that Meijers was selling all kinds of 22 lr and mag with no limit. His cousin walked out with 10 boxes of 22 mag and 5 bricks of 22 lr.
By the time my buddy got there and he only lived 10 miles away it was all gone.
It don't take long at all with social media to make this stuff disappear.
A shortage? It sure looks like hoarding.

Hoarding is correct. If the hoarders would back off the price might actually come down everywhere.

It is real hard to not buy a bunch when the opportunity arises. We still have 2 years and 7 months of that POS in the White House trying to "fundamentally change" America. One of those "changes" is to outlaw ALL firearms. And after him we may have Hillary. What do you think she would do if she could. I just inventoried my ammo and decided I need more .380, .357, .32h+r, .45acp , etc, etc.. And more guns too. Mostly Dans of course. I've pared the list down to about ten more in the short term. But then, why pare it down!!!

To put my original Post in perspective, I got lucky before the ammo crisis, and got 10 K of decent, shooter grade .22 lr. I already had another 5 K of bulk pack/Golden bullet/... stuff. I also bought .22 lr early on (in the "crisis") when it was available. I have given away close to 3 K to friends/family, I shoot several hundred rounds a month, and I just don't need any $.08/round .22 lr
$.08/round for .22 lr is just a shame. I WILL pay this for good (like Federal Auto match) ammo
