Will the EWK large frame wrench work on my 357 SM and what shoiuld gap between barrel and cylinder be?

It'll work- just need the right pilot.  .003" will work well, normally.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

It's the .357 pilot - same pilot for large frame .357SM wrench and small frame .357 wrench.

You can use the large frame tool without the 44 cal pilot in a pinch. Just be careful to not damage the nut.

Thanks everyone for the help I have ordered it and it is already shipped. The clearance should be set to .003 on a Super Mag and not .006 like the normal 357.

The proper gap for the .357 Maximum revolver is .002”. For all other large frame and SuperMag revolvers the gap is .006”.

Straight from the DW manual.

The tighter gap helped with reducing flame cutting.  Be sure to keep the cylinder face and forcing cone clean as .002 can grow shut easily with a lot of shooting, also when the gun heats up.  I usually use .003 as a warm gun will grow at least a thousandth.
