i've been told you can shoot 38 Spcl out of the 357 but can remember somewhere reading that it can mess up the cylinder. Can anyone help me out on this? The guy we bought our 357 from sold us a few boxes with the gun and i don't want to mess it up(i waited a long time to get it back)
Thanks,
Chris

No worries Fisherman, 38's are fine to shoot in the 357. The only issue is the need to clean the cylinders periodically as to prevent build up of residue which will prevent 357's from chambering properly. 38's will probably be less accurate but good enough for general plinking and such. If you fired a huge number of 38's it would eventually start to erode the area around the cylinder but most of us just don't fire that many. It would be a more pronounced problem when shooting magnums in a super mag. Others may chime in, but this is just my 2 cents worth.
