I saw it but it makes no sense to me unless you are some serious collector that wants it. What good is a gun that does not shoot?
Did you know that DW made a 22LR Rifle? I saw one on a website the other day they were asking about 1K for it, had no idea they had made a rifle.

Why does it need to ship to an FFL? It has no firing pin or even a place for one, it's no moe a gun than an airsoft pistol, even less than that since it won' fire anything. Interesting piece but I don' need any non functional items in the collection. Would like to hear the history on this one though.

Maybe this was called the "Coyote"?
Yes, there was a "Dan Wesson" .22 lr rifle
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Up here deactivated guns demand a premium, they are necessary to teach the firearms licencing course and a bit of a nuisance to get them verified as permanently 'non-working'. I was handling a friend's deactivated Tommy gun the other day and man I would love to send a few mags down wind with a real one - though it is a heavy beast.

You might see it as useless...you might think of it as a paperweight...but, what's that old saying about beauty in the eye of the beholder?
It's always going to be a wonderful example of DW craftsmanship...a larger amount of effort went into this than an operational pistol. And...just think of the rarity! Some might consider this the keystone to a DW collection.
And, by the way...it looks like it's on the way to a good home somewhere.

I see it as a quite interesting rarity that will have an appeal to the serious Dan Wesson collector. Appealing in a similar way that factory brochures, ads and fliers are etc. I do not understand why it needs to go through an FFL though. The auction description looks like the seller copies and pastes a lot of it, as if it is used in all his auctions.
