i got 2 6 inch 357 stainless barrels vented with the 3 vents along the top , one barrel's vents are longer than the other barrel , has anyone ever noticed this ?

well what i meant was the shroud , the vents on the top of the shroud that you can see through .i'll try to get some pics , does anybody have one they can measure the actual holes on it .

I am thinking Monson to Norwich to CZ may have changed the Opening on the vents. Monson would be double line cal and place of manufature, palmer roll stamp one line cal only, norwich not sure, cz laser etched. Side by side comparason or just bag up the darn strange shrounds and send them over here!

they are both double lined, and i have a 4 inch with no vents at all , nothing is that pretty much the norm or don't see many of those .

Get them pics up here, I think I have about every configureation of the 357 4", the 4" HV, LV, L, H . will have to dig them out and look them over.
may have most 6" ones too!

My single line 744 shroud has longer openings in the slots than my double line 715's...

I suspect that as tooling wears out or needs adjusting things get changed. The vents are only cosmetic anyway, arn't they? They are supposed to help cooling I guess but really how much difference does in make in all but a few high round count competitions.

yea i used to collect hot wheels and looking for variations on wheels , interiors and paint tampoo and stuff made it were i notice little stuff like that i guess , so are the shrouds with out the vents along the top like my 4 inch are they as common as the vents .
