I purchased a used 715, seems to be in good shape, shoots well, but won't eject 357 cases. When I push the ejector, the cases aren't clearing the end of the cylinder. I'm not sure if this is normal and perhaps polishing the cylinder will help or if the ejector rod has been replaced and is too short. There is room at the end of the channel that the rod rests in. It will eject 38 cases perfectly. I would appreciate any ideas you might have, this is my first revolver so I'm not sure what to be looking for. Thanks.

It is functioning normally; just tip the barrel up and the cases should fall out. Additionally, when shooting short cases (.38 spc) be sure to clean the chambers well or you will experience hard extraction of .357 cases. Here's a video of a reload technique.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I always shoot 357's first and 38's last for that reason.Short cases leave a ring in cyl. behind where 357 expands.I had
to hit rod w/palm once after 38's to 357's. Wire brush it good, should cure it.

Be careful when pounding on the ejector rod on a 15-2 or you will knock the cylinder stop out of the sideplate. 715's and later 15-2 's, those frome the Palmer Era and just prior, have a different design and don't have that problem. I find an uncharted pencil works well. Until you can scour out the cylinders.
