In the May issue of American Rifleman I read this in the Armed Citizen section. "When 70 year old Watson Green discovered a man attempting to break into his home late one evening, he immediately called 9-1-1 and got his handgun. Green advised the 9-1-1 operator that he was armed. The operator told him to put the gun away and wait for police………" This happened in Albuquerque, NM.
I'm sure the police arrived just in time to help clean up the mess.

That 911 operator must have been Diane Sawyer.

For sure! I can just hear the "bleeding heart voice of concern" that she switches on at a moment's notice.
...In fear of his life, Green fired a single shot, killing the suspect. Two weeks prior to his death, the suspect was arrested for burglary in a separate incident...
I love a happy ending.

I'm tring to figure how many officer's would need to be hired so
they could respond within 3 minutes of every call.
Sorry Gary, had to say it. Your comment hits close to home.
Thanks to our ex-wall street crook turn Govenor cutting school funding
that led to job eliminations, my wife recently had to fall back on her law
enforcement training and is now with the Sherrifs dept on night shift. You
would not believe the amount or the types of 911 calls that come in every
shift.
On the plus side if TLC gets wind of all the crazies we have around here
we might get a Policewomen of X county show.
