I have a Carcano 6.5x52 Carbine and on occasion I check GB for some .268 bullets not the .264's to reload. Today there is a an slightly unusual auction for a JFK Carcano replica from the day.

I always thought that the Carcano rifle was a low dollar rifle in the day. I ralize the historical tie in but its not like this one is the actual gun used, its simply the same model. Have I missed something?

Thanks for the link. It's interesting what some guys like to collect. "Murder guns" don't pick my interest as much as the ones that feature prominently in movies/tv. Dirty Harry 44s, pencil barreled 38 S&Ws from the early gangster movies and Sonny Crocket's 645. Unfortunetly I've been dealing with the CZickness lately and have had to stay out of my usual spots. Would be interesting to get your hands on it and see if you could recreate what the Warren Commision concluded could actually be achieved at the range and elevations claimed...

I like calling the little carbine my $50 deer rifle. It does the job quite well without destroying the meat, can't say the same for my shoulder. This little gun kicks back hard enough to have you flinching. Nice soft recoil pad helps.

Only on the Internet can you polish up a turd so aggressively that it actually acquires a value that so far exceeds it worth.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
