I've never noticed this before:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=dan+wesson+&_trksid=p5197.c0.m627
A sponsored link at the bottomof the page for a 1911 at Bass Pro Shops?
Has this kind of thing always been there?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Interesting. I guess if a company is willing to give them enough sponsor money, they are willing to look the other way a little.
BTW, looks like the sponsor link is a revolving one...when I look at it, I get an ad for H&R Block. Oh, yup, I refreshed the page & it came back with a Disneyland ad.

I've noticed it too ! I have even clicked on to items down there and
got Sportsman guide and Cabelas.
Wayne,
Ebay has lifted previous restrictions on gun parts, other than
a few items like chamber bolts, high capacity magazines, ammo
components , brass and flash hiders. Also I confirmed via email though
Paypal's restriction dept. that you can pay for anything on the lifted
new list as well. They are not exactly back to the way it was but it
is a step in the right direction.

On the other hand, right now barrel, shroud, and B/A prices seem to be lower than on GB. Grips, cases, and misc stuff still priced fairly stupidly. I don't trust ebay, but if I can score something at a good price right now, I'm willing to do that.
Strike while the Iron is Hot, live for today, because tomorrow they will screw you over. Yeah, I'm pretty cynical.

seems a few of us are taking advantage of the lift!
Maybe by this time next year we will be seeing Dan's (frames and such ) on the bay!!!
We'll see .... I just got a 3 day selling suspension for listing "ebay illegal" magazines (more than 10 rounds)...
I sent ebay an e-mail asking how they know the mags hold more than 10 rounds

I just really think it's a shame that Ebay has gone from what I think was it's original purpose, a place where everyday people can buy and sell used stuff, evolving into pretty much a big corporation that is in it for the money.
Money is great, but I would rather see them make it by great customer service and not paid ads and increasing fees.

I followed the post and looked around. Didn't see a BSP ad. Saw Weight Watchers and ATT. At the risk of you guys all throwing rocks at me, advertising like this doesn't bother me. Well, until the REALLY annoying full screen pop up ads start.
Remember when we all read newspapers and magazines? They were loaded with advertising. Allot of it (those damn tear out things in magazines) were annoying. It was (still is for the survivors) their primary profit engine. I run an Internet based electronics company. Web Pages, shared links and sometimes outright advertising are a necessity in the electronic marketing age. Just like on TV, we are forced to look but nobody makes us buy. It's kind of a part of the free enterprise American way, or what's left of it anyway.
Just my 2 cents worth.

It's not about the advertising-- it is about being anti-gun, anti 2nd amendment, then taking money to advertise for a gun business.

I regularly see the Brownells stuff, maybe Bass Pro snuck an actual gun advertisement in there. Wish I'd taken a screenshot.
