The picture is a little blurry on my end but YES there should be an allen head side plate screw there.

Yep, you're missing your short side plate screw…there should still be the long screw under the top of the grip. DW/CZ has some available, check the "Where can I order parts" link to the right of this screen, under "FAQ's".

Obviously, don't shoot it this way, but that side plate is pretty snugly fit already, and there is another sideplate screw, as noted

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Oh–just put a small c-clamp on that spot and go blast away…rofl  Seriously though–even though some of those sideplates fit incredibly tight, I'd wait until I had a screw in there to shoot it.  Personally, i'd pull the grip and check the threads in that hole with the other sideplate screw--there may not be any threads in it.

That's a shame...I've had other companies send me screws for free (Ruger, Rem, Choate, Savage).  Maybe they can be had from a machine screw supply company?  CZ gets them from somewhere--surely they don't produce them in house.

That is frustrating. You can lessen the "bite" of that $9 by getting a spring kit, and give her a tune up.

I agree, that's a bit extreme.Frown They are probably trying to cut down on the little "nickle & dime" orders, in favor of shipping multiple item orders.

One thing you may try...scroll down to the "Parts & Service" section here & open the "Hot Bluing Service" thread. Our member Hotbluer did all the bluing for DW for a few years & has mentioned that he has a bunch of extra DW parts still on hand. He may have screws too.Wink

Either that, or send your shroud in for laser engraving, and while it is there tell them to toss a few screws in the box with the shroud--They shouldn't charge any extra shipping.  If I send my shrouds in, I'll give it a try.
