lbruce has done it again.
Y'all may remember the grips he made for SHOOTIST357 based on his cool rubber CCW grips.
Well yesterday I recieved a little box in the mail with a set of grips he made based on a photoshop I did of a Dan Wesson factory compact grip modified with a Tyler T-Grip.
Wow! These are real nice! The contrast between the light wood (black cherry) and the blue steel is just striking.
As for the shape, lbruce altered the grip angle a little bit from the factory grips which improves the natural pointing of the pistol considerably and I also like that they seem to be slightly shorter than the factory ones which were longer than they needed to be. Most importantly the knuckle on my "driving finger" will be saved the abuse from the back edge of the trigger guard. The new angle coupled with the filled in area where a Tyler T Grip would go makes one's grip naturally higher than the stock grips as well.
Only tiny issue is with speedloaders, the speed loader hits the top of the grip, so it will take a little practice to get smooth with them, but they do work better than with the factory compact grips (I frankly don't trust my ability to use speedloaders under stress with the factory grips).
Overall these are a very nice blend of the factory compact grip with the gripping chararistics of a Magna + T-Grip or a Badger or Eagle boot grip.
With lbruce running around out there making all these cool CCW grips y'all have less and less excuse for not mounting the snubbie barrels on your 14s and 15s and packing these great pistols.

You can really see the difference in the grip angle.
I wonder what a revolver grip at the same angle as a 1911 would be like. I find the 1911 to be the most natural "pointing" handgun for me.
Just as a side note, my son spent a happy day at the range this past week shooting "his" 15-2 with the custom LB's (R/W/B laminates) and said it was a perfect fit for his hand, and the coolest grip he's ever seen.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
