Reading Steve's post this morning gave me the idea to start a topic specifically for us to list the inaccuracies we see in auction or classified postings for DW's.  Below is the one Steve listed.  Lets see who can find the biggest mistake!

Quote from a current GB auction:

This * NO RESERVE * AS-IS AUCTION is for a VERY SHARP/COLLECTABLE * 35+
Year Old * Dan Wesson Model 22 serial # 17640 (early 70's). It is a
SCARCE 22 Long Rifle

This sounds like fun.  I spend a lot of time crusing the auction sites and question some of the things I see.

I caught an error on GB # 220333840 and sent a message. It was listed as a 10" barrel for 357 MAX OR 357 Mag.  He emailed me and made the correction. I usually let a seller know if there is a mistake in a listing assuming I know it.

Yesterday I sent out correct info to an ebay seller with a very nice looking grip listed for ".357, I think". It was actually for Large Frame, and he sent me a very nice response thanking me for the correct information.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yesterday I too corrected a guy on a 357 max v.s. 357 mag barrel. I still don't think he got it but the add is somewhat clearer.

Umm...serial # would put it at 1979 or later ? ? ? Not early 70's

Note that this one says "as pictured" and "pics are actuall gun", and of course "everything in pic will be included"?

There are no pictures!

"pics will be added soon"

Anyone wonder why there's no bids?

You can't make this stuff up surprised

I noticed that when it was first listed.  Nothing like telling the world you are anxious to sell.  poke

Pics are up now though.  Looks nice.

Here is one that is not too bad but I see a lot.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=223022544

The extra zebra grip is for a small frame and the seller is selling it with a large frame gun. (can't be sure about the Pac)
