Some how my ejector rod bent . I would like to take the whole cylinder ejector crane apart. Does anyone one know which way to turn the star to remove the ejector?

Here you are.  Place two empties in the cylinder for leverage and leather or something in the pliers:

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I had one bend and I just unscrewed it and dollied it straight with a small hammer and a piece of wood.  Keep rolling it as you tap on the rod and you will get it very straight.

If you have a good drill press, fasten the rod at the very end and start the drill, rpm doesn't matter much as long as it is quite fast (easier to see the wobble). Look for the point where it begins to wobble, a good idea to mark the point with a pen, then reseat the rod in the chuck to the point just above the wobble.

Here you can go two ways, either stop the drill and bend the rod to counter the wobble or with the drill running apply a little bit of pressure with a wooden dowel until it looks straight.

Repeat the reseat and straitening if needed at another point of the rod.

Just make sure your drill press got a straight spindle with good bearings and that it doesn't wobble by it self. And remember, never trust a cheap drill press quality comes at a price.
