Hello everyone,
If you're in New England, the Big E fairgrounds in West Springfield, Massachusetts is hosting a militaria gun show June 5th and 6th, 2010. I'm lucky enough to live 15 minutes away so I think this rainy day is going to be well spent indoors looking at guns and parts!
Here's the flyer for the event: Gun Show Flyer

I was entertaining going there too! Problem, I'm broke and I hate to see things I need and/or want without any mad money put away. Just spent a fortune for a 454 cubic inch chevy engine for my 70 El Camino. I know, I have too many bad habits, cars, 4x4s and guns. Maybe I'll go tomorrow anyway, not sure.

I know what you mean about having too many projects. I also collect military high security padlocks and right now I owe a friend $700 for a couple Sargent & Greenleaf munition bunker padlocks he fronted me.
The show was pretty decent, prices a little high for hand guns, but that's pretty standard for a gun show. You think if they took $50 of each gun, they'd make more sales, I guess they just want us all to look at them, and nothing more. As an example I saw things there for $650 that should have been $495 and would normally be $525 at a gun shop. I don't understand why hiking up the prices seems like a good idea to these people who rent a table at a gun show.
But all is not lost. I saw a Dan Wesson Model 15 (Made in Monson, I had the guy take it out of the case so I could look at it) there and took a pic for everyone here. Not sure if that's a good price, what do you guys think?
If anyone is interested in this gun, I have the guy's card, their shop is in Massachusetts.
Thanks,

ps. Notice the DW logo on the grips is glued in upsidedown?

$389 these days for a Model 15 is pretty good. If you were able to get one for that price on GunBroker you would still have to pay shipping and transfer fees. Also the medallions are not glued in. You can take a paper clip and pop them out from the backside and place them correctly.

We've got the same problem with gun show sellers here, too. The prices usually aren't a good deal, which only seems to defeat the puropse of a gun show, IMO. I haven't tried trading a gun yet though, so maybe better deals are had that way.
As Jody said, the grip medallions can be easily strightened out. They often spin upside down like that, due to recoil. If DW has used an offset pin in the medallions, this probably wouldn't be an issue.
