So I’ve always admired the Dan Wesson my father gave to me years ago. I thought it was a beautiful gun and it shot amazingly well. Lately I’ve been going back through the forum and reading old posts and admiring the pictures of your DW guns. Mine is just a blued heavy 6” 15-2 which seems pretty vanilla compared to some of these exotic pieces of artwork you guys have collected over the years. I love the guys who have all these crazy pistol pac sets. I do have my 22lr sent in to DW for a 22 mag cylinder and crane set up for it. I’ve bought a few barrels for all 3 (lol) of my revolvers at this point and have stuck with blued guns but certainly appreciate all the stainless hardware out there. I would like to hear about someone’s experience with the ewk barrel thread adapter and how it works with a can? Anyways sorry for rambling and thanks for the mountain of info from members.

The EWK unit replaces the factory barrel nut and has the muzzle end threaded with the standard size suppressor fitting. Use of a can on a revolver is suspect at best.

So I’m unfamiliar with the suppressor stuff when you say suspect does that mean revolvers don’t work well with them or??? I thought it would be cool to suppress a subsonic 22lr round with the small wheel gun. I’m sure it would have a hard time making a 38 or 357 quiet but obviously a 22 should be pretty quiet. I hadn’t seen any threads on it and was wondering what the deal was. Thanks in advance.

If you want some quiet fun with .22 LR, try Aguila Super Colibri ammunition ... a 20gr lead pellet that has a velocity of 590 fps and is so quiet that you don't need to wear muffs. Designed for bolt-action or revolver platforms. I shoot them in the back yard like a BB gun all the time.

Yep I get that, thanks Ole Dog. I hear a lot of guys saying to gap the barrel to the cylinder that is tightest to 0.002”. With a gap that small would enough of the escaping gasses make that much of a difference in noise or is it still as loud as with the larger gap? At this point I’m asking for a friend.

The small frame cylinders tend to expand after a couple of cylinders worth. Then they can bind. Also powder on the face of the cylinder can cause the cylinder to bind. 22lr is a dirty round. Lastly, the cylinder face may not be perfectly perpendicular. That is why .006 is factory specs. .002 will work on the large frame and Supermags. Bigger cylinder absorbs the heat. I find .004 is best. Always take your tool with you when shooting and a rag to wipe the cylinder face every couple of dz. rounds.
Now, to answer your question. Even 2 thousands gap will be loud and there will be loss of pressure.
