Hello All,
I just saw a double Action Ruger that stared as Blued revolver and the owner had the frame case hardened. I think it is a very classy look. Has anyone had a barrel shroud or a DW Frame case hardened? Thinking this might be a classy way to restore a rusted barrel shroud or a pitted frame. I am not a fan of the cerekote finish but this case hardened look is NICE.

I have never done this to a Dan Wesson, but I have Smith and Wessons
Back around 15 years ago the Smith and Wesson Performance Center produced the Heritage Series of revolvers. These were an exclusive offering through Lew Horton Distributors. One of the available finishes was a Color Case Hardened frame that was the work of restoration master Doug Turnbul.
I thought they looked magnificent
The Heritage revolvers were also available in blue or nickel. Here are all three finishes on the Ed McGivern Special

I have also thought that a Dan Wesson would look elegant with a case hardened frame and blued shroud and cylinder, with an LB grip to finish it. But I have never pursued it. I would think that Turnbull could do the work.

This is straight off the Turnbull website. Looks like they sell these for just under 1K.
