I was not thrilled with the results of my scoped V 8" scoped barrel on my 15-2 last week running 13.5 gr. of 2400 pushing a Win. 158 gr. JHP. I am not totally sure the scope is holding point of aim. Groups were 4 to 5 inches at 25 yards. This is from sandbags. Besides comparing with my HV shroud that is not scoped and doing a sit down session one following the other with the same rounds and seeing if the iron sight groups are the same or better, what would be a good way to check the scope for holding point of aim?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Did you check your rings and mounting screw's ? If that's not the cause I would:
1. try a different scope
2. Get that gun as solid as possible and bury it in those sandbags, get the
cross hairs lined up on a target and then dry fire the gun and see if the
cross hairs move off POA. If the dry fire dose nothing, I would go as far
as tapping around the outside of the turret caps to see if I could get the
crosshairs to move while the gun is resting rock solid.
What name brand is the scope ? I know I have had older Simmons scopes take
as many as a dozen shots to settle in. This can be frustrating when getting a
scope sighted, but once in, they were good to go. A wood rod and a few
taps in front and behind turret caps between adjustments and test shots
makes quicker work of this type problem.

Good suggestions, maybe I'm not patient enough. I'll give it another trial and work through those procedures. The scope is a Bushnell Trophy 2-6 variable, it's mounted with a Burris clamp on mount. All screws are new and tight, feels rock solid.
When I got home I put on the other 8" barrel so I will have to see if that makes any difference. Both barrels are clean and ready to go.
I will take the VH shroud and the barrel I pulled off so I can do a comparison if I have the time. I always have a wooden dowell with me when I go so I will also do the tap procedure.
Maybe this barrel just doesn't like 13 gr. of 2400, that's always a possibility I guess even though it has done well for me in the past.
Got ta have a pic of course just excuse the camera phone quality if you can;

Looks familiar
I will say that I shoot this pretty rarely, but it is pretty accurate and consistent. I leave the shroud scoped, and when I re-install it, things stay pretty consistent for POA/POI.
When shooting from sandbags, do you have both the barrel and the butt end of the grip on a similarly supported surfaces (ie- grip not resting on the bench?)
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
