Wife and I spend four hours at the front doors at Wally's, collecting for our AL Post.

I met a lot of generous folks.

One story I will share. A twelve year old with her mom came up to me and asked of the money would

go the help vets in need of medical treatment. I said yes it would. She gave me $10 - her mom then informed me it was her allowance she just gave me. I spend the next five minutes explaining to them about where and how the dollars would be used. I then told her about the story of the poppies in relationship to war veterans. I shook her hand ad repeated my thanks, and did the same to mom, adding she did a great job, too.

I met another young girl who's mom had a cart full of party supplies. I asked the occasion. HS Graduation and enlistment into the marines! I then asked if she was in the HS JR ROTC program...Yes Sir she replied.

It really made my day.

If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

This really made my day, THANKS!

BTW- "Yes Sir" took me back to so many years ago when we retrieved our son from Basic Training, it took a couple hours to get past "Mam and Sir, and back to "Mom and Dad"!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
