Alright guys, all this talk about carry holsters has prompted me to confess a funny but scary story about my self. Back in the 80's My date wanted to go to the Fair so of course we went. As usual in those days my model 15VH4 was neatly tucked in my waistband in a ITWH with no retention I should add. I had carried this way for a long time and never had a problem. The date wants to ride the Flying Bobs and I am sure most of you know what that is. As we are locked in the ride and it spins around the track my 15 pops out of the holster and begins to rattle around the bottom of the ride car as I am frantically trying to get a foot on it as I am locked in the car and can't reach the floor. As you can imagine I fear it flying out of the car or worse going off. I finally manage to get a foot on it and when the ride ends and I am released from the safety bar I nonchalantly reach down and pick up my shooter and no one even noticed. Yes the story is a little embarrassing and yet funny "now" but I tell it because what ever you do use a holster with retention. Just my two cents worth but I hope no one ever takes a ride like me. Stay safe.

OK, my turn....
1994 Pittsburgh, PA -- College buddy and I are driving back home after a late night of partying in the local clubs. I'm carrying my Firestar 40 in my IWB holster. We are in my wife's (fiance at the time) 1984 Pontiac Fiero and driving in a snowy whitout on the interstate. As we are headed back north to my house, my buddy says "hey, you're drifting to the center of the median", a few seconds liater the wheel grabs the hard edge of the snow pac and turns the car sideways... as we continue to roll 4 times the gun flys loose in the car. We end up upside down with neither of us getting a scratch...
State troopers show up eventually--the minute I mention there is a gun somewhere in the care we are both handcuffed and stuffed into the cruiser.. I show my CCW permit and the cuffs come off. A little while later the trooper comes to the window and says "we can't figure out how to clear your gun" ... They hand it to me to clear ... They were a little perturbed when they saw the "cop killer" looking bullets in the mag as I handed it back to them!
Car was a total loss -- I still owe the wife a Fiero...
