Howdy boy's. Hope ya'll had a nice Thanksgiving. Some of you as well as I were in the woods. Bagged a 4 pointer at 7:20 a.m. gutted it, took it to the butcher to be donated for the homeless. Back at home, took a shower and was dressed and greeting guests for Thanksgiving dinner by 2:00 p.m. Payed for my day of fun and gluttony by having to put up the Christmas decorations yesterday. Of course being Black Friday, the wife and her friends took off shopping. I would rather be on a tall unsteady ladder than face those mall mobs any day. My neighbor came over to lend a hand. We got to talking about our favorite Christmas presents we ever received as kids. We laughed as we both had about the same toy's as kids. But the ones that really stood out were, twin six shooter cap pistols in twin holsters. The first G.I Joe's. A foot tall he was. My grandfather complained that boy's don't play with doll's. My Agent Zero gun's. A camera and a radio that with the press of a button turned into guns. But the greatest and coolest gun ever made. Was my Johnny Seven One Man Army Rifle. 7 guns in one. The kid next door got one and we waged war for month's with those guns. Grenade launchers, missile launchers, machine gun, anti tank gun, removable automatic cap pistols etc. Like Ralphy from a Christmas story. I slept with that gun. I've received guns as presents since then. But none ever lit me up like that old Johnny Seven OMA.

What about you guys? What were your favorite Christmas gifts as kids.

One of my greatest gifts was a Daisy Powerline BB gun at 9 yrs. It with my dad teaching responsibility and safety with a gun, has made me the shooter I am today. Fond memories of days gone by. I don't know how many treasure chest of golden BB's I went through. Times are different now. Bring your kids up right.

Good morning

Growing up in SW Michigan I had the privalege of hunting pheasants and other small critters in the Riverside area with a borrowed 410 single shot.

Christmas 1964 in a long box leaning on the wall an Iver Johnson 32 " full choke Matt Rib 12 guage dad had bought from an old hunter.  That old long barrel has accounted for numerous game birds, fox, crows, rabbits, squrrels, pheasants, groundhogs ect... and even won a good 10 pound ham at a Tennessee Turkey Shoot back about 1980.  Still have it tucked away wrapped in grease and wax paper.  Use a double FoxB now.

Christmas 1982 I got a Daisy Powerline 880! I loved it and still have it. That same year my brother got a little Bear compound bow which was very cool as well.

My first rifle was a 1943 Lee Enfield No.3 which I needed for the Sea Scouts in 1965 when I was 12
