So the market value of DW's appears to be climbing again, which poses the question "how much is it really worth?"

I have two basically flawless 15-2's in 6V I'm going to put up for sale-- What say ye...?  How much are they worth?

With barrel assy's fetching stupid prices lately, the price of guns has got to be going up also.

If I'm not there, start without me Wink

While the selling price of barrel, shrouds, buckles, grips. cases etc, continually surprises me, and indvidual revolvers seem to list and sell for pretty good $, Packs continue to surprise me with pretty low selling prices, relatively speaking.

Guess that's why we have Breakers out there.

To answer productively, I hope, I think a good condition 15-2 6V is now very consistently a $400+ revolver, better condition takes it to $450+ (and this come from a guy who sees $300 DW's with some regularity).

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I wish I could find $300 DW's.  Every once in a while I find a deal--like the W12 for $250.  But the one 15 I have I paid $427 for because it was so nice--now I may be lucky to break even on it.

In the grand scheme of things, I'm way ahead on the good deals side of life--Just a few DW's I may have paid a little too much for.

Maybe I'll just put it on GB when there are a bunch of the overpriced DW's for sale--Mine will look like a bargain 🙂

I've done really well thinning out the 15 collection.  I'm down to 3 factory 15-2VH PP's (one for me and each of the kids), and the two mint 15's.

It seems that there are alot of 15-2's on GB and the prices are widely spread. Guess you could price then middle of the road except I'm sure yours are top grade. Good pics may get you the better price. GoodLuck

I can help in the 445SM department, maybe?  I just bought another 445SM just because it was offered locally and private.  It had a total of 4-rounds ever fired from it, $750.00 including the remaining 16-rounds of ammo from the box that came with it.     My first ever Dan was a NIB Norwich 8"VH 445 for a tag of about $900.00 If I remember correctly.    The 10" Slotted that is on the banner at times with the fluorescent orange was $875.00 after negotiations.     I have a serial number "9" VH 8" 445 that I paid $900.00 for with 100-pcs of brass and a redding profile crimp die.   I have  NIB Norwich 445 VH6C that I paid $1300.00 for with NIB extra grips and extra barrel, not a GTDW, but it remains NIB.

Helpful?

That's some impressive SuperMag collecting, SMF!occasion

I agree with Steve's thoughts on the Model 15's. And though we see auction prices ranging from mild to wild, I think it's generally the mild prices that actually sell...the wild ones just sit there & make multiple rounds.

In the end it comes down to whatever it's worth to the buyer.  If you get the right buyer, it can be worth a lot.

On 3 of my guns, the seller found the right buyer.  i paid at least 50% more for each of them than other sales I've seen since.

GoodLuck

The market does seem crazy high right now.

Start them at a pennie with no reserve or a low reserve and see what happens. Like suggested good pictures and a thorough description goes a long way. Two guys that really want it will drive the price up there to the nose bleed section.

Went to Ron's Guns in East Lyme, CT today to pick up my 1911 Colt light Officers double eagle series 90.  I saw two DW 44 mags with 8 inch heavy barrels both in mint condition.  No accessories with either.  One had a Redfield scope and was marked $550, the other no scope marked $750.  I might go after the scoped one.

Why do you think the one without the scope was so much more?  Was one of them stainless?

Both blued.  Not sure, I like the finish on the cheaper one.  I think the cheaper one has been in his inventory longer, thus lowered the price.  I was told by the man attending the store that Ron would probably work with me on the price some.

I am also interested in what a model 15-2 in excellent condition is worth. What do you guys think a near new 15-2 is worth? There's one on Gunbroker now (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=154224820) with a Dan Wesson pistol case that looks nice and I may want to bid on it. Right now I need to get at least a fair deal to feel comfortable. If I weren't laid off I wouldn't mind paying on the high side. I'd really like a Monson gun in truly excellent condition that has not been fired much. Any help would be appreciated. If you decide to sell one of your guns Shootist .357 let me know.  Thanks

Warnerwh, your link isn't complete. If you're talking about one of the Pistol Pac's that's currently there, $800 seems to be a fairly average price currently, for one in good condition. $1K is often the going rate for one in excellent condition.

Nope, I think he's talking about this one... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=154224820

I was going to buy it just for the case, but decided I don't want to have another 15-2 lying around 🙂

I thought I had both my 15-2's sold a few days ago... $1k for both--guy said he wanted them and would call me back when he was on his way...no call 🙁

The auction link Shootist posted is correct. And what is that soft case worth?

Maybe I'm crazy, but it looks like a good price to me.  If you're are looking for a 15-2 V6 in what appears to be excellent shape, and getting the fairly rare soft case in what appears to be really excellent shape to boot Buy Now.

Ah-ha, that one! I agree with these guys, that's a great deal! The case itself often sells on eGouge for the neighborhood of $100 +/- , so that makes the gun a pretty darn good deal so far.

If I hadn't recently gotten a case, I'd be all over that one.Smile
