So what started out as a search for a home defense firearm is turning into a collection hobby.
I, much like many of you, find myself looking at these different models going "Oh wow, thats so nice." or "Man I got to have that." especially the pics you guys have on your signatures lol.
So several questions come to mind:
Monsoon made weapons (Ive heard the term being thrown around) are those better, since made by the factory in Monsoon? Or worst (cant imagine it would be worst)?
In the information I was sent it states (on one of the papers) the date 1981, and according to Wikipedia it states DWs were made in Monsoon from 1948 to 1983. Is this acurate?
Not sure if this is floating out there but is there a list of revolvers made by DW? Kind of like a collector's checklist?
Well thats it for now, just trying to educate myself on this possible new and of course oh so expensive hobby.
Sincerely, Rod

AHA!! DWAS has struck you.
Monson (not Monsoon, BTW) made guns are favored by some because they are the original.
I'll have to check my facts, but I believe that Dan Wesson didn't begin making firearms until 1968. I also think the original company lasted until 1989. Two of my Monson made Dan's were purchased new by me in 1985.
There should be enough information available on this site to satisfy your educational needs.

Monson, MA I believe was the first factory, Palmer, MA was the second factory and Norwich, NY is the third and last factory for the revolvers.

Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia, it can be edited by anyone.

Lots of good info if you just keep drilling down thru all of them
"notpurfect" is a pretty good resource, but a little dated with some inaccuracies.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
