I'm a new member here and this is my first post.
I am on my way to buy a Dan Wesson PPC, and was mainly wondering if there are any members that own one, and what experience you got from it? If you for an example noticed any difference between using 38 special or .357 magnum ammunition etc? I read somewhere that the PPC revolvers could be senstive for using .375 ammo... And how easy is it to come over spare parts, extra barrels etc?
glad for any feedback - Axel

Welcome Axel, We have one member with a PPC or maybe it's an action cup I don't remember. I am sure he will speak up soon. There are a lot of great guys here with a lot of info to share so hang on to your hat and let the fun begin. A PPC is a rare animal so we will be calling for lots of pictures and range info. How about go by the new members thread and tell us about yourself. And to the .

One of our members owns an Action Cup model. Here's a thread on these guns, and pics Wayne has posted of his AC at the bottom & continued on page 2.

I hope you do end up buying that gun. You'll be the first on the forum who owns one, if so. And yes, please show us lots of

Axel- the PPC is probably pretty specialized, as noted, we have one member here that will probably be a lot of help. Internal and mechanical parts should be pretty available from CZ/Dan Wesson, barrels and especially shrouds will be tough, I think.
At any rate, please stop by New Members with pictures of your new DW when you have a chance. I think DWF is going to be your best resource on this gun.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Axel,
The PPC model are quite rare. Most of the ones I have read about chamber .357 Mag, which would mean you can shoot .38 special out of it too. I doubt the PPC is any more sensitive to ammo than any other Dan Wesson. Some of the PPC revolvers I have seen pictures of are double/single action and some are double action only. Apparently the buyer could choose either at the time of purchase.
Most of the parts are interchangeable with the small frame model 14/15 revolvers. You can use the barrel and shroud assembles from the model 14/15 but you would have to find some way to attach a rear sight to the frame.
I have an Action Cup. This is a special version of the PPC. It is one of only two that I know of.

hi all!
wow, thanx for a warm welcomining! glad to see so many replies in such sort time. Thanx for all good points and directions. It truly seems this forum will be of great help and resources.
I will definitely as soon as I get my hands on it, be taking some proper photos of it (yes there will be plenty), and ofc some reports from the range.
I am really looking forward to try both the 357 magnum and the 38 special ammo with it and see how it performs.
Wayne, The Action Cup looks sweet. I think the dealer selling my PPC had one of thoose for sale aswell. Too bad I can't afford it, or have the possibility, to buy both. But the AC never comes with front sights? just the rail? It seems it's extreamly hard to find info about the history of the PPC in general. is your AC double/single action or double action only?
And big thanx for info and hints on getting spare parts etc. I guess I probably will have somre more questions, once I've started shooting with this little piece...
cheers - Axel

Terpenoid- Welcome to DWF. If you get that AC (and even if you don't) please stop by our New Members area and tell us more about yourself. "It's a Small World" and we have at least one other Swedish member, K-Man.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Axel,
My AC is double action only. It is also .38 Special only. Yes, the AC only had the weaver rail, and generally came with a Tasco ProPoint II red dot sight mounted on it.
Terpenoid, It's good to know there are more Action Cups around. Most of the PPC models that I have seen or herd about have been outside the US.
The PPC/AC are heavy bricks with almost no recoil when shooting .38 Spl and .38 Spl +P. I've never hung the massive shroud on one of my model 15s to see how well it tames .357 Mag.

I really wanted the PPC .357 but Axel managed to snag it from me. 🙂
I'm still contemplating the purchase of the AC. I'm saving up for an AR-15 and a Benelli M4 and the AC would postpone those a few months. 🙂
You will always be able to get AR's and Benelli's (I assume). You do not stumble across and Action Cup every day, they are very rare.
