What brought this up, is as I sit here browsing, a rather boring movie called "The Real McCoy" is running on the big screen. Early in the movie, a character played by Val Kilmer holds up a stop-n-rob convenience store. The man behind the counter pulls out a model 15-2 with what appears to be a 10" vent heavy barrel and begins blasting away.
There is an on-line database that lists guns used in movies.

They missed The Real McCoy and another winner staring Arnold Schwarzenegger called The Last Action Hero. Benedict is the character (played by Charles Dance) who wares various fake eyes (one with a crosshair) and shoots a long barreled Dan Wesson model 15.

A lot of times my brother and I will be watching a movie and end up searching Google for gun answers... Funny what kinds you see used in movies.
