Visited a couple local gun stores over the weekend, one of which was the store I bought my 715-FB from 2 weeks ago. At the time, my D.W. was the only one in the case (with the exception of the new production 1911's).

Went into the store and checked out the used-revolver case. On the bottom, I noticed a D.W. revolver, the barrel nut caught my eye and I thought "Oh, they have another Dan Wesson". Then I look beside it, and there were 2 more, for a total of 3 in the case surprised

Unfortunately, they were all barrels of roughly 8" long, and all were large frame. 2 were in 44 Mag, and 1 was in 445 Super Mag. First price tag I looked at was $999.99 surprised Way out of my price range. Didn't even bother looking at the price on the other 2.

Are Dan Wesson's showing up more recently? Or was this just a freak thing that 3 showed up in the 2 weeks after I bought mine?

I haven't noticed more of them in my local gun stores, but they do seem to be becoming more popular on the auction sites. Unfortunately, the price tags are also on the rise.

FYI- If that was Newington Gun Exchange, they always have more DW's than anyone else in CT. They have had a 7445 for quite a while, and I almost always see a 44/744 there when I go in.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes, it was Newington Gun Exchange that had them.

I went to a gun show in Birmingham, Al weekend before last.  I saw 5 DWs and they were priced just a tad over what I thought was a fair price.

Tonight I was checking out ARMSLIST in Alabama.  Here's what I found.

For Sale: Compact RevolverWesson Little Dan

Item Price: $250.00 Listed On: Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Seller: Private Party Listed In: Handguns
Location: Smith Station, Phenix City, Alabama [Map]

this is a small frame stainless steel dan wesson revolver in near mint condition comes with box and papers, im not sure if it was ever fired. not one of his best sellers but kinda neat. price is firm to local buyer only.
Contact Seller

I contacted the seller and he said he was going to show it to a guy in the morning.  If he doesn't buy it then it's mine.

I'll bet the guy buys it.

If it is a true 738, then someone should have snagged it!

It was a .38 sp.  I talked with him.  It sold to the first responder.  Seems that the buyer was a DW collector and recognized right away it was a bargain.  The seller still has several DWs.  I told him about the forum.  He said he would take a look and maybe join but haven't seen him, not that I would know what name he might use.
