My .445 SM is shooting a little low. I have raised my rear sight as high as it will go. I even lost the screw to it and had to replace it. I was wondering if DW makes any higher front sights. I'm using W/296 29 gr. with 300 gr XTP. Vel. is around 1400 fps on my chrono. I did order a 100 rounds of XTP 240 gr. They should shoot a little higher.
If DW doesn't make higher sights, I guess I could make one out of a quarter or 50 cent piece. I have made them for my black powder pistols.

Yes, DW has patridge sights in different heights. Check out FAQs where can I order parts? Although I believe on your compensated model you will have to drill a hole in the sight for a pin. But they are not hard to make as you said.

You are correct the front sight needs to be lower. I will see what I can do about that. I have tried shooting with the top of the front sight at the bottom of the rear sight viewer and visa-versa. Well this is a dilemma. Kentucky windage may be the only cure. I was just thinking lighter bullets won't help either in a pistol. Recoil and it's velocity causes a heavier bullet to rise higher than a lighter bullet on POI. Well, I get her tuned up! Thanks for the input guys.

just a thought, but the EWK Conversion sight which allows the use of a 15-2 shroud on a 14-2 is a very low front sight. Maybe try one of those?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Update, I changed my load from 29 gr to 30 gr of W/296. It shoots high enough now that I had to lower my rear sight a little. That's mo-better.
My order of 100: 240 gr. XTP bullet just came in. I'm going to make 3 different loads [powder] with them. Let's see how they shoot.
