The more basic question is "What is best for concealed carry? It's unlikely that anyone here doubts my passion for Dan Wesson revolvers, but...
Six rounds of .357 Magnum, in any barrel length, versus seventeen rounds of 9mm?
No brainer IMHO
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Any full-sized revolver is more difficult to conceal than a comparable semi-auto.
However, unless you are limited by agency policy as to what you can carry, there is no valid reason to carry a full-sized 9mm. If the pistol size works for you, go with at least .40 S&W; if concealment is most important, carry a .380.
If I'm in a suit, I carry a DW .357, either 4" or 2" bbl. If I'm "tactical," it's a 10mm semi-auto. If I'm ever forced to shoot someone, it will be because they're doing something that must be STOPPED IMMEDIATELY, and to do that you need a round with energy. Remember that the first rule of gunfighting is BRING ENOUGH GUN. 9mm ain't it.

Six rounds of one-shot stop, v. seventeen rounds of moral support.
Agreed, it's a no-brainer, but not the same one you think it is. 😉
Actually, it is exactly what I think it is,
Eight doubles with one left in the chamber, drop a magazine, reload a magazine. A practiced shooter can drop the mag and reload (with one still chambered) stay pretty much on target and be ready for eight more doubles... No way does any revolver allow this
.357 Magnum is not a guaranteed "one shot stop" without good shot placement. My .380 LCP can be a "one shot stop" if I do my part. Modern, effective 9MM ammunition can provide the same "one shot stop". The benefit of higher capacity means MORE one (or two) shot stops, more quickly without reloading every six rounds.
AND, the original question was regarding concealed carry of an 8" barreled revolver. Concealing and deploying an 8" revolver versus a high capacity 9 mm under identical conditions, and the high capacity 9mm loses? Really?
I know what the no brainer here is.

I carry my dan regularly, don't own an 8" barrel. I'd guess you use a shoulder holster?
My setup is a 15-2 with an EWK extra heavy in 3". Still considered heavy. I rationalize it as follows: I work in a warehouse and 8 hours a day I have to keep a large scangun, bulky walkie, many, many keys boxcutters etc.
After working there for 3 years, a dan seems very light in comparison! A glock is the better choice but I feel safer with my Dan on my side (Somehow).
I recommend jox speedloader pouches, they sit ontop yer belt, hard to explain but just find pics on the web. they work great for me. Pricey though...

I will carry a DW4VH, mostly for trips to the grocery store, gas station, Dunkin Donuts...
More commonly, in a very well known social setting or Total Stealth Mode it's a Ruger LCP with the hottest ammunition I can buy and a LaserLyte red dot.
I very comfortably carry a Springfield Armory Lightweight Commander, fairly heavily modified with top line internals and totally reliable.
Unfortunately, in the Peoples Republic of Connecticutistan, I can't carry over 10 rounds in a magazine.
And just to go off topic a little, who else ALWAYS has a knife in the pocket? I always, always, always do.

I had seen earlier today where the OP had put a somewhat "unusual" post on this thread. It was between post #12 and #13. It sure seems like Rimfire responded to it. It is no longer there. Did a Mod remove it or did the OP delete it?
I did not remove anything, and absent very extreme circumstances, I never would. And I would ALWAYS identify that I had done so.
I have put posts up here, and other places that I have deleted once I saw what the World would see.

OK I moderated the post between #12 and the current #13. I did not mean to confuse anyone but I had hoped it had not been seen. In hind site I should have just deleted the content and left a note of what I had done. Hopefully this issue is behind us.

Gee, how to choose . . ? Eight ineffective (Hatcher 29) doubles with one ineffective in the chamber, or six effective shots with more than double the Hatcher rating (67) . . ?
Even the FBI figured out that the most "modern, effective" 9mm rounds blow Jell-o all over the lab, but don't do the job on the street. You'll hurt him with a Wondernine, you'll STOP him with a .357. Or a .40 S&W. Or a 10mm. Or a 45. Since I don't carry a pistol as a fashion statement, I have opted for effectiveness. Job One is that I go home tonight, on MY feet.
As the original question was on concealing a Glock and a wheelgun with 8" bbl, consider that the money spent on the Glock will buy a shorter bbl and a more concealable stock for the DW, with plenty of money left for ammo to gain proficiency. I would also point out that the Glock in question takes up a lot more landscape than a 15-2 with the slim stock, AND the shape of the print is pretty much impossible to mistake for anything else, while what printing comes from the revolver isn't so readily identifiable. Anecdotal evidence of this is that last year I got back into DWs, and the first time I wore a 15-2 for social purposes, my buddy asked why I wasn't carrying.

I heard a statement once, don't know who said it but I agree with it, 'any gun you are carrying when you need it, trumps EVERY gun you own but left at home'. It comes down to personal preference and capabilities to properly conceal and carry that gun. There is no perfect gun, but there is a perfect gun for everyone and every situation. That may not be the same gun in every instance though. I don't carry the same gun all the time. Time of year, how I'm dressed, what I'm doing all play into my decision as to what to carry and why.
I often carry my DW CCO in .45 acp, it can be a bit bulky at times and in summer if I'm in shorts and a tee shirt, I often carry my Ruger LCP .380. If it's cold and I'm wearing a coat, I will carry my Sig P250 compact in .40 S&W, and sometimes even a 744 with an EWK 2" and a set of small grips I had made. If I'm dressed for a casual night out with the family I may opt for 'Lil Dan .38+P or Ruger LC9. I feel much safer with any/all of those than nothing at all. I am proficient with all of my guns and should the need arise, I can use any of them effectively. Circumstances dictate my choices. It would be impossible for me to pocket carry my 744 in a pair of cargo shorts in the summer time and it would be less than ideal to only have an LCP on me in January when I'm in a heavy coat and could be carrying both the LCP and another, larger gun. Then the LCP becomes my BUG.
Bottom line, to each his own.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
