Just read a post over on The Firing Line that someone actually read in a magazine that CZ will be reintroducing revolvers.
I will head out in the morning in search of the magazine and report back!

It is correct – the revolver is going to be produced this year. It will be a 715 offered with a 6" barrel. It will take the same interchangeable barrels as previous 715's, but will not be offered in a "PAC". Barrels will be purchased separately (i believe this is correct). Production is scheduled to begin second half of next year.
I'm already on top of it with CZ and the distributors to insure that I get an order in up front as soon as they become available for ordering. I'm going to try to bring in 10 – 20 guns up front and make them available to anyone who wants one. If there's a stronger interest, I'll order more. To those who are seriously interested in purchasing one, please email me separately at jesporting@aol.com and let me know and I will plan to order accordingly. Hopefully we can get in at the front as soon as they are available.

Maybe a DWF special edition can be requested? Possibly with unique serial numbers
If this new 715 becomes real, hopefully Dan Wesson / CZ won't have a problem with EWK producing shrouds to fit them. I suppose EWK could produce something just different enough to avoid copy wright/patent issues.

I'd expect these to be very pricey-
1) CZ's direction with DW 1911's has been to take the philosophy (and pricing) into the production/custom range. There are no moderately or mid priced DW 1911's
2) Those same high end 1911's can use parts from outside vendors, and at what seems to be some pretty substantial production numbers. This results in much less in-house manufacturing, and allows quantity purchasing.
3) An all proprietary DW revolver will almost certainly be at lower production levels, and DW will either manufacture all the pieces, or be buying specialized, single use parts.
4) CZ is not blind to the dollars that they see the specialty (SuperMag, .445, .414, etc.) DW revolvers commanding in the used market, I'd expect them to plan to appeal to a higher dollar purchaser, like the S&W Performance Center business model.
Don't get me wrong, it will be a great day when the new DW Revolver rolls out, but there is no reason to expect CZ to vary from their current Dan Wesson brand philosophy, which is basically "Show Me The Money".
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Guys, I went to Books-A-Millon on my way to the Gun Auction yesterday and grabbed 5 magazines since I didn't have time to look at the store. Well I went through them last night and found nothing!
Maybe the guy on the other forum was trying to boost magazine sells!
If they do bring back revolvers I for one don't understand why they would start with the model 15/715 as they are available reasonably priced on the used market.

Boy, that's not good! Thank you for trying though, it would have been really interesting to have gotten the article!
I dunno what CZ's thinking is about doing the 15 either...maybe cause it sold the most in years past they think it will also sell well, and have the most market appeal.

Agreed. It would seem counter-intuitive so use the "custom gunshop" price model and then produce the most common, lowest price model.
I would expect CZ to use that custom model price, which will probably price me out, at least till I can save up for a long while. I also think CZ would be smart to put something out to compete with the S&W 500... that is bring out the 445.
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.
4 Monson Model 15's
1 Palmer FB 15
1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)
1 CZ 75B
Thanks Harly! I will go out and pick this one up today!
Also folks I read on the other forum that they are included in CZ's new catalog. Here is a phone number for you to pick one up for your collection.
While I don't need a new 715 I will probably buy one just to show support in hopes for other calibers.

I guess that would help... 1-800-955-4486
Was able to run out at lunch and pickup the magazine Harly referenced (Thanks Again!). It's just a couple of sentences so here is a scan. I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I have a pretty extensive collection of magazines with DW articles so this one will be added to it!
At least now we can see something in black and white. My hope is that John Taffin will be writing an article soon!

it will also be interesting to see if the new 715 is an exact copy, with parts fully interchangeable/identical to original.
